How Do I Qualify? Select The Responsible Choice in Shutters and the Thermalite™ Shutter Insulating System is installed in your home, thereby meeting requirements established for insulating systems as set forth by the IRS and IECC under the Federal Tax Credit category called “Insulating Products.” What do I get if I qualify? The Thermalite Shutter Insulating System is certified for the Federal Energy Tax Credit under IRS Section 25C amended by the reinstatement of the American Tax Payer Relief Act of 2012 and extended through 2013. When you insulate your windows with Thermalite, you can earn a tax credit for 10% of the cost of the shutter system, up to a maximum credit of $500. Why do Thermalite Shutters qualify? The Thermalite Shutter Insulating System was created to reduce energy consumption in your home by cutting heat loss or gain through your windows. Thermalite Shutters are designed to keep your house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, providing as much as 3 times the insulation of typical wood shutters.
